2010 Emmy Nominations Provide Wide-Open Field
This year’s Emmy nominations have left a wide open field, and when the 2010 Emmy’s take place on Sunday night, it is going to be anyone’s guess who the awards will be handed to. There are quite a few categories in the primetime segment of the 2010 Emmy Awards broadcast that could go to several different candidates, and one of the most prolific are the nominees for Outstanding Actor in a Drama. The 2010 Emmy Awards will begin just after 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST) on NBC tonight (Sunday, August 29), and it will finally be a live broadcast for both coasts. There will be red carpet shows beginning at about an hour before the main show for those that are interested in seeing the stars arrive.
Regarding some of the 2010 Emmy nominations, that category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama should be extremely interesting. The nominees are Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Matthew Fox (Lost), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), and Hugh Laurie (House). All of these actors were great last season, and all are deserving of a win on Sunday. It would be nice to see Chandler finally rewarded for the great work he has put into FNL, but this could be a chance for Lost to leave with an award for Fox on the table. Hall had one of his best seasons on Dexter, and then there are the two critically acclaimed cable actors in Cranston and Hamm that everyone would enjoy winning this category.
