Neptune Festival 2010 Starts Today with Boardwalk Weekend

Neptune Festival 2010 Starts Today with Boardwalk Weekend - Everyone is invited in a boardwalk weekend of the Neptune Festival 2010 at the Virginia Beach. The admission is free. The 37th edition of the said festival will be full of excitement with special activities at steak.

Today is the second day of the festival and the main event is the Grand Parade. During this special moment, characters alongside marching bands and military units parade on Atlantic Avenue, starting at the 16th street.

The Neptune Festival was started way back in 1973 by Richard Kline, the President of the Virginia Beach Chamber of Commerce.

The officials have reported that rain or shine, the parade will take place as the special day will take place. They have confirmed that people will be enjoying the blue sky as the temperature will rise to 90 degrees in Virginia Beach.

Everyone is expected that the Neptune Festival 2010 will be full of more activites as the Neptune Ars and Craft show will be there and will includes more that 275 artisans that will display their best products to amaze and delight the public.

Other interesting activities will include surf lessons, Volleyball tournaments, Youth Art Club.

For those who are planning to go to the Neptune Festival 2010 and want to catch the “Boardwalk Weekend” from 2nd Street to 36th Street on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, the festival  will be taking place from 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM on Friday, 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM on Saturday, and 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Sunday.
